All harvesting operations moving to self-propelled tracked harvesters
As part of our drive to manage our soils well, combined with our increasing responsibility to our major customers to deliver in all weathers, we have undertaken a complete move to all harvesting being achieved through tracked, self-propelled machines. 2014 saw the delivery of a Grimme Varitron 220. The benefits of this have been so impressive, it has convinced us to move carrot operations the same way. 2016 saw the introduction of a self propelled Asa carrot harvester, which has revolutionised how harvest our crop in the winter months. 2016 also saw all heavy tillage and cultivation work being done with a Cat Challenger. These moves have furthermore improved the soil structure of our land base.
